RCI Connect Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 3, 2026
RCI Connect is a student access application provided for Riverside College. Riverside College determines how institutional student information is used. FOWL Studios and ADG Technologies support the application and its infrastructure as service providers acting for Riverside College.
Information the app processes
- Account and identity information: student ID, name, Riverside email address, Microsoft organizational account identifier, and session credentials or tokens.
- Student records requested from SIMS: enrollment and course information, schedules, grades, requirements, blocklist status, address and contact information, parent or guardian information, vaccination information, and statement-of-account or fee information.
- Notification information: a native device push token, device platform, and a one-way student lookup value used to route messages such as campus notices or account-specific fee reminders.
- Technical information: limited service logs such as request time, response status, IP address, and diagnostic details used for security and reliability.
The app does not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or use student data for advertising profiles.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, display their Riverside College and Microsoft 365 information, provide student services, deliver requested or institution-authorized notifications, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and protect the application and its users.
Services and disclosures
Information is exchanged only as needed with Riverside College SIMS, Microsoft identity and Microsoft Graph services, and Google Cloud services used for Firebase Cloud Messaging, Cloud Run, and Firestore. These providers process information under their own service terms and privacy commitments. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect users and institutional systems.
Device storage and security
On supported mobile devices, authentication tokens are stored using operating-system secure storage. Basic signed-in account metadata and the local notification inbox are stored on the device. Network requests in production use HTTPS. No security method is perfect, so users should keep their device and credentials secure and sign out before sharing a device.
Retention and deletion
Signing out removes locally stored session information. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local app data. Push registrations are retained while needed to deliver notifications and may be removed when invalid, replaced, disabled, or no longer required. Riverside College retains official student records according to its legal, academic, accounting, and institutional obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, contact Riverside College using the details below.
Students and minors
RCI Connect is an institutional education service and is not directed to the general public. Students who are minors should use the service under Riverside College policies and, where required, with parent or guardian involvement. The app does not knowingly use student information for advertising or unrelated commercial profiling.
Your choices
You can decline notification permission, disable notifications in device settings, sign out, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Some core features require a valid Riverside College or Microsoft organizational account.

This policy may be updated when the application, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
